honouring fear as your mentor

We are surrounded by reasons to be fearful. In a world of cataclysmic transition/transformation, when all the myths of our culture are falling away, it’s easy to give way to doomscrolling and prophecies of apocalypse, undermining our sense of self and our ability to show up in the world with the courage, resilience and wisdom that are our birthright. Ultimately, we risk falling into an endless loop where being afraid of being afraid becomes a self-perpetuating cycle.

But Fear is not bad in itself: in the right place and the right time it’s what keeps us alive when we might otherwise rush headlong into danger.

So how do we come to know our fear, embrace it so that it softens into a friend we can engage with rather than the monster lurking in the depths of our shadow-spaces? How can we befriend our fear and make it one of our strongest mentors?

In this 4 hour online Gathering, we will explore how fear shows up for us, and we show up for it, before moving into the resources we have and can build in the material, emotional and spiritual worlds. We will work individually and in small break-out groups and as a wider collective in meditative journeys.

No experience necessary and you don’t have to be a member of the Accidental Gods community to come along – in fact, if you’re curious, this is a good time to get a feel for who we are and how we work.
