awakening into connection
Thoughts following the US action in Iraq
We’re all on the journey towards connection and coherence, exploring at whatever rate seems right to us – and then we wake up and find that the world has descended into chaos.
At times like this, it’s easy to fall into tribal narratives – whatever our tribe may be, we know our side is right and the other side is wrong. Which is largely the old-paradigm thinking that got us to this in the first place. Instead, those of us who believe in a different future, need to find ways to be grounded and balanced – we need to be the balance for the world. Every bit of research shows that the more we can change our own energy, the more we can become heart coherent, the more we can shift out of crisis-ridden Beta brain patterns into alpha or even theta, the more the people around us come into balance. The ripple effects spreads out.

Healing Ourselves and the World: A dynamic conversation with Della Duncan
If we can open our eyes and look in the mirror of the world, we can open ourselves to the InterBeing that allows Active Hope as we face the chaos of our world. In this interview, Della Duncan, Renegade economist and practitioner of Joanna Macy’s Work that Reconnects, explores the ways to a sustainable and equitable future.
Feeling our way into feeling
Feelings… we avoid them unless we like them and even then, we’re very good at suppressing what’s really there. But if we want to truly connect with ourselves, each other and whatever else is conscious in the web of life… we have to let our feelings flow unrestricted. We have to learn to understand what’s ours and what isn’t and be able to set our default feelings so that we shape them instead of them shaping us.
Falling in love with living – the How & the Why
Feeling better is the goal of every self-helper, addict and social media buff. This episode looks at how you can *actually* feel better – forever, by shaping your feelings so they don’t shape you.
Emergence from Complexity
Emergence from Complex Systems is a thing. And the thing about it is, that there are only two options when a system reaches maximal complexity: collapse to chaos and extinction OR emergence to a new phase. We prefer the second option, so this episode looks at Complexity – and how to use the levers of change in any system
What is a complex system?
The hypercomplex system that is our interconnected world is on the edge of emergence into something new – and if we’re going to get our heads around this, we need to understand the difference between Complicated and Complex systems.
Hacking our Habits: dropping the defaults
Changing our habits of thought and feeling for ones that help us flourish
Habits – why we do what we do
How to maximise the chances of a chosen behaviour becoming effortlessly habitual…
Growing into Coherence
What does it mean to (re) awaken into connection with the web of consciousness that is the world? How we can rediscover a heritage we have only recently lost and re-purpose it for the twenty-first century.
Awakening into Connection
Of the four steps towards conscious evolution, our reconnection with the natural world is first and greatest. Here, we talk about it in detail.
What is Conscious Evolution?
In this first episode of accidental gods, we outline the thinking that got us to here, and then go on to explore the possibility of transformational change – of conscious evolution – and the very practical, daily practice that could lead us towards it.
Hack your Habits
How can ordinary, time-poor, stressed out people in a world hurtling towards chaos and calamity, can find the time, space and bandwidth actually to become the change we need to see in the world.
Changing our minds
Exploring the core science of what makes our habits move from simply things we do once, to things that we do without thinking them… that then have a core impact on who we are and how we design our energy through the days, both as individuals and as a culture.
